OIKOS has been an accredited testing laboratory in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 for over 35 years and is a recognized provider of proficiency tests in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043. It specializes in the analysis of air samples from working environments and exhaust gases as well as environmental investigations such as noise emissions, water, waste water, soil and indoor air quality.

The range of services includes chemical and physical measurements at workplaces, including tests for pollutants, noise, vibrations, microclimate, light and dust. Modern analytical methods such as chromatography, spectrometry and infrared spectroscopy are used. A gravimetric method for determining the dust fractions is also accredited.

OIKOS offers nine programs in the area of suitability tests (including noise, light, vibrations, dust, carbon monoxide). It supports other laboratories by providing validated samplers, advice on storage/transport and with field blanks. The focus here is on solid-phase collectors instead of liquid scrubbers.

Many of the test methods are based on NIOSH/OSHA standards. The laboratory maintains an extensive, ISO 17034-certified substance database and regularly achieves very good results in international proficiency tests.
